Tasting notes: Fruity and sweet. Ripe berries on fragrance, and taste notes of garden berries and caramel.

This coffee is cultivated in lush Muranga and processed at the Riakiberu Washing Station, which is part of the Kamacharia Farmer Cooperative Society (FCS). Farmers from four nearby villages supply coffee cherries to the washing station, growing the SL28, Ruiru 11 and Batian varieties. The region’s mineral-rich volcanic soil and favorable climate provide optimal conditions for coffee production. Each farmer typically manages around 200 coffee trees, and also grows maize, bananas, and beans for subsistence, while macadamia trees are interplanted to provide natural shade.

Upon harvest, only ripe cherries are delivered to the washing station for processing. The cherries undergo pulping, followed by overnight fermentation. They are then thoroughly washed, soaked, and dried on raised beds. Drying takes between 7 and 15 days, depending on weather conditions and production volume, with regular turning and sorting. The wastewater is treated in soaking pits to prevent contamination of nearby water sources, and is purified before being recycled.

Experience the ultimate holiday indulgence with this delicious Christmas Coffee. It is the perfect addition to your Christmas breakfast or with your favorite Christmas cookies. With an extra sweet mouthfeel and berry-fresh flavors, this is a coffee that will put an exclusive touch to the holiday season.
